Art Shanty Projects

Art Shanty Projects is an artist-driven temporary community devoted to expanding the notions of what art can be. It explores the ways relatively unregulated public spaces can be used as new and challenging artistic environments.

The Bakken Museum

The mission of the Bakken Museum is to inspire a passion for science in people of all ages. Its programs include Super Science Second Saturday events, 10 Best Days, summer camps, and invention programs, as well as outreach activities that involve nearly every fourth-grade class in Minneapolis and St. Paul.

The Bell Museum of Natural History

Brave New Workshop

The Brave New Workshop has been writing and performing original sketch comedy and improvisation longer than any other theatre in the United States. Burnet Gallery at Le Meridien Chambers

Burnet Gallery showcases contemporary works by an array of international, national, and local artists. Artworks encompass all mediums, including video, sculpture, paintings, drawings, and prints. The gallery is located inside Le Méridien Chambers Minneapolis. Considered one of the top boutique art hotels in the world, the hotel features works by such noted artists as Damien Hirst, Tracey Emin, Ashley Bickerton, and Subodh Gupta.

Center for Spirituality and Healing

The Center for Spirituality & Healing is an international leader in integrative health/healing.  We educate professionals/students about integrative therapies and healing practices; conduct scientific research into non-pharmacological interventions, coordinate lectures and workshops, and develop care model innovations. The Center believes that well-being is enhanced when complementary and conventional practices are integrated. 

CSA: Community Supported Art

Over the past twenty years, Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) has become popular as consumers buy seasonal food directly from local farms. In 2010, with that same buy-local spirit, mnartists.org and Springboard for the Arts created a similar endeavor to support local art, artists, and collectors. The project is now replicated in twenty cities around the country.

Le Meridien Chambers

The country’s first luxury art hotel, Le Méridien Chambers Minneapolis features more than 200 pieces of original contemporary art from the private collection of the hotel’s founder, Ralph Burnet. Edgy and controversial works from the Young British Artist movement by Damien Hirst, Tracey Emin, Angus Fairhurst, Gary Hume, and Sam Taylor-Wood can be spotted throughout the hotel.

The Loft

The Loft Literary Center is a nonprofit arts organization offering services for readers and writers at every level. Programs include readings by acclaimed local and national authors, classes, weekend genre conferences, competitions and grants, open groups, writers’ studios, and much more.

Lunalux

Lunalux has been preserving the traditions of letterpress printing since 1993. We use vintage equipment and modern design sensibilities to create bold posters, cheeky cards and luxurious invitations. Rain Taxi Review of Books

RAIN TAXI REVIEW OF BOOKS, a winner of the Independent Press Award for Best Arts & Literature Coverage, champions literary works that push the boundaries. Essays, interviews, and in-depth reviews reflect RAIN TAXI’s commitment to innovative writing. The group also hosts readings and other activities in Minnesota, including the annual Twin Cities Book Festival.

Science Museum of Minnesota

The Science Museum of Minnesota, founded in 1907, is a large regional science museum located on the banks of the Mississippi River in downtown St. Paul. Its programs combine research and collection facilities, a public science education center, extensive teacher education and school outreach programs, and an Imax Convertible Dome Omnitheater.

Soap Factory

Based in a 120-year-old warehouse, The Soap Factory challenges artists to bring their ideas to life in our raw, industrial galleries. In 2011 The Soap Factory exhibited the work of more than 100 artists, including new performances, site-specific installation, video, and sound pieces as well as painting, sculpture, and photography.

Soo Visual Arts Center

Springboard for the Arts is an economic and community development organization for artists run by artists. Springboard began in 1978 as a program of United Arts; it incorporated in 1991 and has served more than 70,000 artists and arts organizations.

University of Minnesota Department of Art

W Minneapolis – The Foshay

On the National Register of Historic Places, the Foshay Tower was built by multimillionaire real estate developer Wilbur B. Foshay in 1929 and was instantly heralded as a modern, art deco masterpiece. Painstakingly restored and transformed into a W hotel in 2008, the Foshay has a museum on the 30th floor where visitors can learn about the building, then venture out to the open-air observation for panoramic, 360-degree views of the Twin Cities.

Walker Art Center

The Walker Art Center is a catalyst for the creative expression of artists and the active engagement of audiences. The Artists in Storefronts project turns vacant or under-used storefronts into vibrant, engaging spaces showcasing original work by Twin Cities artists. By bringing art to the walkable urban landscape, Artists in Storefronts helps to revitalize neighborhoods, increase community engagement, highlight local creativity, and stimulate the local economy.

ZERO1

Working with some of the most fertile and creative minds from the worlds of art, science, design, architecture, and technology, ZERO1 produces the ZERO1 Biennial, an international showcase of work at the nexus of art and technology and the ZERO1 Garage where principles of artistic creativity are applied to real world innovation challenges.
