TAW/WAT is coming along full swing. I spent the first half of April working with Randy Johnson of American Woodworker Magazine down at their shop in Eagan, MN. We used their ShopBot Buddy CNC Router to cut out all 56 pieces of MDF that it will take to create the 28 giant letters to spell out the phrase across both sides of the bridge. As soon as we were finished routing, I wasted no time to jump into step 2: painting. With a 5 gallon bucket of “Licorice Stick” red, a spray gun and a brush, I am now almost halfway finished with painting all the letters. 30 days until install, 30 pieces left to paint and 4,510 LED light bulbs to screw in!
